Could you tell someone in two minutes what Christ has done for you – what He means to you? If someone asked you to please tell them briefly how you were saved – how you became a Christian – how you were born again – could you tell them how it happened? Tragically, countless millions have no story to tell. That should encourage those who do to tell theirs.
This is one of those opportunities for you.
If there is a specific Bible verse that figures prominently in your conversion story, we would like to hear from you. We will group, by verse, all the 250-word submissions. We will then create a website post for each verse and feature the corresponding collection of stories.
For our website’s purposes, your story needs to be brief – a synopsis consisting of no more than 250 words. By having your story included, you will be able to refer your friend or neighbour to your brief story online – as another opportunity for personal witnessing.
The 250-word summary should include:
- Describe the life you lived before trusting Christ and why you needed salvation;
- Briefly explain what you understood in the particular verse that caused you to appreciate Christ as your personal Saviour;
- State what Christ means to you today.
There’s no need to end your abbreviated story with an appeal to sinners to seek Christ. Your expression of what Christ means to you – should be sufficient to create a thirst.
Please use words and expressions that an unchurched person would understand. The target audience will not be familiar with names and practices that may be important to you and those with whom you fellowship. The purpose of the stories is to reach the unconverted.
If you don’t have time to write a 250-word summary of your salvation story, we will create a list of names of others who were saved through the same verse – just a list. E.g. Name / Verse / Year Saved / Location in the world. The list will be inserted at the bottom of each post – with the collection of stories above.
To give you an idea of what a 250-word summary looks like – there are approximately 388 words above – almost 130 words over the limit!
