Have you wondered what it would be like to have an audience with a Queen or a King? You think: “My mind doesn’t even go there, because it will never happen.” But suppose you did receive a gold embossed, hand delivered envelope from a reputable courier service and you were invited to a private audience with a reigning monarch – how would you react? After you got over the initial shock, you might wonder if you could even afford the new clothes required for such an occasion, let alone the travel costs of getting there. No need to worry. You find out that the silver winged Royal Air Force private jet will be dispatched to pick you up and the tuxedo will be provided. “Is this just a dream or could this really be happening to me?”
The jet touches down on the runway. You’re escorted off the plane and whisked away in a limousine. The palace gates swing open; the guards click their heels and give you an official salute as your limo is welcomed inside the courtyard. White gloves open your door and you are warmly greeted to the palace. Your heart is pounding. You’re nervous – scared stiff about how to behave. After saying: “Good morning your Majesty,” what will you talk about it? You feel so klutzy, dumb and so insignificant. Will you stumble or fall flat on your face when you walk into the Throne Room? Do they know that you haven’t been a big fan of Royalty in your past, in fact you’ve even bad-mouthed the monarchy? Will they see through your shallowness and be disappointed they ever invited you in the first place? After a few minutes, will they be turned off and realize your pipsqueak status and find you utterly boring? Oh well, it’s too late to turn back now. Up the marble stairs you climb. Breathe deeply. You’re almost there.
Your heart is in your throat. Even the guards can probably hear your chest thumping. Shhhhh. Ready? Enter!
You are overwhelmed by the grandeur of the scene. You never could have imagined anything more awesome or magnificent. The warmest welcome is extended to you from a kind and gracious face. This is not a routine or mechanical royal welcome. You have the distinct impression that the Monarch has long been waiting for this exact moment when you would come. Not only do you get a welcoming nod from the Throne, the arms open wide and yes – can you believe it? A welcoming hug is in the works. A tender embrace. The arms lock around you and you understand the Monarch has no intention of letting you go. You feel a kiss on your cheek.
You are choked with emotions? “Why me? I’m not worthy! Do you really know who I am? I don’t deserve this! If you knew my past you would be ashamed to even have me mow your grass in the courtyard or clean your toilet bowl. I shouldn’t even be on your property – let alone standing at Your throne with Your arms wrapped around me. I must be mistaken as to “who” is reigning now. I haven’t kept up with the news. Your Majesty, please tell me who you are.”
A warmer, kinder, gentler voice your ears have never heard before. “Thanks for coming. I am thrilled you are here. I have been looking forward to this. I am Grace. Yes, that’s my name. I have been reigning since Calvary.”
so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound.
But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
That as sin hath reigned unto death,
even so might GRACE REIGN through righteousness
unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
(Romans 5:19-21)
Take a minute and sing at your computer the first verse of “Amazing Grace!”

Eternity will have two groups of people with two great wonderments One group a smaller group who accepted his offer of Salvation by Grace, will wonder why such Amazing Grace was provided for them as they bask in the sunshine of his Glory.Another group a much larger group will wonder why they rejected such Amazing Grace as they face the awful judgement of the Great White Throne and eternal suffering.
