It’s easy to be optimistic when we are surrounded by supportive friends who are cheering us on and giving us the coveted pats on the back. It’s not all that hard to be confident when the bank account is fat and promotions are coming one after another. Smiling from ear to ear and hearty handshakes and a positive, upbeat attitude is easy when the marriage is strong, the family is tight, the job is secure, the body is healthy, the friends are true, the bills are paid, the car is working, your network is expanding, your investments are growing and your leisure time is increasing.

The picture you paint is interesting . Some people are indeed able to have all the blessings you describe and still keep things in perespive giving thanks to God for all their good fortune, however I think sometimes we git our up beat attitude from our good fortune rather than from he who gives it.
It is a sad fact that we sometimes must be laid low before we appreciate God’s blessings, there is I thnk nothing like not having control of our situtations in life (of course in reality we never do) to learn to depend on our heavenly Father and appreciate his blessings.
