Don’t live with uncertainty and vague hope that somehow you will qualify to enter Heaven in the final analysis. The Bible says you can know for sure— (yes, in this life!) that you possess eternal life. You can be sure you are bound for Heaven!
The Holy Bible says:
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. (1 John 5:13 ESV)
As I write this post, I know 100% for sure that I am Heaven-bound. I am not praying that I will make it there, nor do I have my fingers crossed hoping that it will all work out for me. I’m not working on securing a seat in Heaven. I’m not relying on the notion that God will eventually be merciful to me when I pass over to the other side.
Am I an exception? No. Every single person, without exception, who is Heaven-bound has a moment when they repented of their sin and trusted Christ as their personal Saviour. That is the personal, precious and precise moment when they started for Heaven. At that moment of personal salvation, they became Heaven-bound.

A person’s sincerity in their faith tradition does not make them Heaven-bound. Baptism as an infant or an adult doesn’t qualify them for Heaven. A long track record of helping others and giving generously to the needy does not improve one’s chances of being in Heaven. Attendance at a certain church, cathedral, mosque, temple or synagogue is not the way to Heaven. Saying prayers or taking Holy Communion does not contribute to one’s ticket to Heaven. Depriving oneself of enjoying something they like doesn’t budge the needle either.

Recently, on board Air Force One, the 47th President of the United States of America said this to reporters:
“I don’t think there’s anything going to get me in Heaven. I think I’m maybe not Heaven-bound…I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make Heaven. But I’ve made life better for a lot of people.” (Newsweek, October 13, 2025)
A month or two before, the President talked about Heaven, hoping that if he could bring peace to troubled spots in the world, it might help him get to Heaven. You can read that story here:
Is there a Stairway to Heaven?
Tragically, the President is not the only one to think that a few good deeds may earn him some merit before God’s eyes and qualify him for mercy. What a tragic widespread error believed by so many, but fundamentally opposed to what the Bible teaches about the way to Heaven!
The Bible says:
For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
Nothing but faith in Christ alone (Christ plus nothing else) makes a person Heaven-bound.
The Bible says:
But when the kindness of God our Saviour and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (Titus 3:4-7 NASB)
We have nothing to offer God but our sins. We have nothing of merit to cause God to save us or to have mercy on us. Those who are Heavenbound have a conscious and memorable moment when they came as lost, guilty sinners, deserving nothing but Hell — yes, a moment when they came to God for eternal salvation and because of His rich and amazing grace, He saved them.
The Bible says the Heavenbound moment happens when a sinner turns to God, repents of their sins and places their faith (trust) in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:21).
Are you Heavenbound?

AMEN!!!!!
Galatians 2:21 says, “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”
Where it says “by the law” you can put any work or thing that you can come up with. For instance, If salvation comes by “baptism” or “church membership” or “me being a good person” or “the 10 commandments” or me having to do anything else in the world, then there was no reason for Christ to die! To put it as simple as possible, if anything else could have saved me, then God would have spared His Son! It is Christs death, not any doing on our part that saves us. Salvation is so simple that many people have a hard time believing it. They want to “do” something. But you see from the verse, if I could do anything to be saved, then Christ would not have had to go through the shame and humiliation of the cross.
