Everyone is reflecting on September 11, 2001. So am I. Those towers seemed so strong and so secure.

If the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center came crashing down within minutes, can we say for sure there is safety and security anywhere in our world?   Including the 347-foot radio mast on the top of the north tower, it was the tallest building in the world. The 110 storeys of the WTC provided 12 million square feet of space.  Inside were 103 elevators, 16 miles of staircases and 12,000 miles of electric cable. The Towers dominated the skyline of Manhattan for 30 years. They represented everything that is strong, tall, secure and permanent. But within minutes, Bin Laden toppled the towers, and thousands of lives tragically came to an abrupt end.

Many have been worn down in their spirit by pervasive insecurity in their lives.  Hopes disappointingly dashed. Dreams of success and fulfilment come crashing down. Homes and families were ripped apart.  Lives wrecked by vicious vices.  Some are all too familiar with their inner ‘towers’ of strength crumbling, collapsing, and disintegrating. That’s internal. The unsettled feeling inside grows more intense when they look beyond themselves to see the symbols of stability and security in a society collapsing.  Towers collapsing.  Churches erupting in scandal.  Leaders falling off their pedestal.  Corporations corrupting themselves into oblivion.  Marriages falling apart.   Is there any tower for us to trust in and to find security?

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it and is safe. Proverbs 18:10 (Holy Bible)

The forces of evil can never topple this Tower.  If you are looking for security, it can be found in Christ alone.  He died on the Cross not only to be the Saviour who will forgive every one of your sins but to be the Saviour who will protect you and take you to heaven. He will remove your insecurities and fear surrounding death and eternity.  He replaces it with confidence and certainty that all is well for eternity.

Bible material

When He died on the Cross, some may have thought that another strong ‘tower’ had come to a violent end.  But not so!  He died for a purpose. It was no mistake on His part. He was born to die.

1 Corinthians 15:3 says: “Christ died for our sins.”

Yes, He died. Yes, He was buried.  But this Strong Tower reappeared three days later. Christ is alive. Never to die again. He died once for sin.  Now He lives to provide safety, shelter and security for people just like you….and yes, for YOU!

If you will come to Him, He will never fail you, disappoint you, let you down or leave you. He will always be there for you.  Imagine: safe and secure in this life and for all eternity!

I hope you will email me and tell me about the security you have found in the Lord Jesus Christ.
