Renewed Terror Threats in Latest Video

Chilling. Frightening. Terrifying.

Christian families huddled together and prayed as the latest rumors spread. He was about to strike again. His attacks were gaining momentum and spreading quickly. He was widening his circle of terror as he convinced certain leaders to jump on board and sanction his intended path of destruction.

The very mention of his name instilled fear. Christianity was the focus of his terror. He had no intentions of stopping until he rubbed out every Christian on the planet. With calculated moves he coldly plotted and schemed and meticulously carried out his violent strikes with success without one ounce of pity for the objects of his attacks.

Christians lived in fear wondering when the next attack would come and where it would be. The latest video that surfaced (or the 40AD equivalent) suggested that Damascus was the next terror target. And the video was no hoax. It was authentic. It was the real Saul of Tarsus and the latest mission was under way. He and his team of terror were enroute to that very city.

Do you think the Christians were praying night and day for the salvation of this ‘terrorist’ and hater of the Christian faith? Or did they think it was outside of the realm of possibility? Even though we know that nothing is impossible with the Lord, yet in our little minds we so often just pray for things that we feel could be possible if the Lord chose to intervene. But when something is just too far-fetched or too remote a possibility, we don’t bring it to the Lord in prayer.

But read Saul of Tarsus’ personal account of what happened to him while he was actually traveling to carry out his latest attack:

And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me,

Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

And I answered, Who art thou, Lord?

And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest….

And I said, What shall I do, Lord?

And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus;

and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.

(Acts 22:7-10)

Had any of the Christians envisioned this happening to Saul of Tarsus? He seemed so invincible, so mighty and so powerful – who could have imagined ‘him’ falling to the ground! Who could have imagined this Jesus-hater ever falling to the ground and at the name of Jesus of Nazareth, humbly asking: ‘What shall I do, Lord?

Did any of the Christians ever imagine that this very man would later write: ‘the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.’ Galatians 2:20

Can you think of anyone or anything you would not even dare to pray for? It is just too far fetched to even imagine that the Lord would intervene in such a way or even want to intervene.

Who asked this question: ‘Is anything too hard, too difficult or too wonderful for the Lord to accomplish?’ (Genesis 18:14) The Lord.

Walk carefully and closely with the Lord today.

Warmly in Christ
